A Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes) successfully pounces on prey in Yellowstone National Park, USA. This image was taken during my second photographic trip to Yellowstone. Knowing that this was a great place to see foxes, I was always on the lookout for one. Without ever getting a shot one, I was very happy to finally come across one of these guys on the final day of the trip. I positioned myself behind a rock while the fox hunted. I noticed the fox becoming very intent on a certain portion of ground. I knew this was my moment to capture a pounce image. Without any indication, the fox quickly sprung into the air, allowing me to fire off two frames. It was an added bonus to see that the fox had successfully captured prey. Overall it was a great end to the trip!
